7 Tenant Experience tips before summer ends
As many people are experiencing, we are in the dog days of summer. We can’t think of a better time for property managers to bring their building community together to show some tenant appreciation. To help, we have compiled a list of 7 fun tips to encourage engagement and Tenant Experience in your building community while summer is still here.
1. Ice cream/popsicles on a hot day? Yes, please!
Who doesn’t love an ice-cold treat on a hot summer day? Source a local ice cream truck, cart or popsicle vendor and arrange for them to set up outdoors near your building over the lunch hour. If budget allows, set up a HILO Reward offer for your tenants to redeem their ice cream for free. While your tenants take a break from their workday to gather together at the event, they can connect with each other and your building management. This is a great way to promote your building community and foster stronger connections between your tenants and the management team.
2. Local farmer’s market/business pop-up
Fresh, seasonal produce is synonymous with summertime, and open-air farmer’s markets are a fantastic way to support locally. Alternatively, consider a pop-up promoting products or services from a business in your community. Your tenants will appreciate conveniently discovering these products set up in your parking lot or a common area of your building. If budget allows, set up a HILO Reward offer for your tenants to redeem a complimentary product of your choosing.
3. Summer BBQ/food truck event
As a thank you to tenants and business owners, invite everyone to a common area outside to enjoy a pop-up BBQ or food truck lunch together. Depending on what your building community would enjoy, you can consider vendors for hot dogs, burgers, donuts, pastries, churros, ice cream or popsicles. Use HILO Updates to promote the event in advance, and a Reward offer that tenants can use to scan a QR code to receive their complimentary treat.
4. Summer sweepstakes giveaway
Recognize your retail tenants or a local business by purchasing a selection of their products, and then offer exclusive sweepstake prizes for your building community to win. Sell tickets to the summer sweepstakes and advertise each retailer’s contribution to the overall prize. For bonus points, try arranging a HILO Reward offer for all your tenants, such as discounts on products or services.
5. Let the music play
This summer is a great time to support local musicians while providing your tenants with the pleasant atmosphere of an outdoor concert. Pick a few weekdays where you can showcase free entertainment in a common area of the building. Set up tables and chairs so your tenants can enjoy the music and some recharging time together outside. You can promote the concert to your tenants through Update notifications on the HILO app. This will provide everyone with all the details they need in ample time to attend the event.
6. Patio season gift card contest
To celebrate summer and the pleasure that comes from eating a meal outdoors, create a contest to offer your tenants a chance to win a gift card to a local restaurant with a great patio. The contest can be anything you imagine, including something as simple as asking your tenants to guess the number of jellybeans in a jar that you can display in a common area of the building. Use HILO Updates to promote the contest in advance, and a Reward offer that tenants can use to scan a QR code to enter.
7. End of summer happy hour social
With Labor Day approaching faster than anyone would like, bring summer to a close with a social gathering for tenants. Host an end-of-summer event in the Lobby or outdoor space. Invite tenants for complimentary non-alcoholic or wine/beer beverages to foster a sense of community in the building. Ask your tenants to scan a QR code with HILO to receive entrance to the event.
