5 Tenant Experience tips for Summer 2021
In the Northern Hemisphere, June 20 marked the Summer Solstice and the beginning of Summer. With COVID restrictions beginning to lift in many cities, we have compiled a list of 5 fantastic tips to encourage engagement and Tenant Experience in your building community as we cruise into summer.
1. We all scream for ice cream
Who doesn’t love cold refreshing ice cream on a hot summer day? Find a local ice cream truck and arrange for it to set up near your building over the lunch hour. If budget allows, set up a HILO Reward for your tenants to redeem their ice cream for free. While your tenants congregate at the ice cream truck, they’ll have the opportunity to reconnect, meet each other, and your building management. This is a great way to promote your building community and foster stronger connections between your tenants and the management team.
2. Outdoor lunchtime concert series
The entertainment industry was hit extremely hard by COVID, and many of us miss the enjoyment that comes from experiencing live music. This summer is a great time to support local musicians while providing your tenants the pleasant atmosphere of an outdoor concert. Pick a few weekdays where you can showcase free entertainment in a common area of the building. Set up tables and chairs at a safe distance from each other so your tenants can enjoy the music and some coveted time together outside. You can also advertise the concert and notify your tenants through HILO by using our new Updates feature. This will provide everyone all the details they will need, in ample time to attend the event.
3. Tenant appreciation desk drop
Although many businesses are offering their employees flexibility and the ability to continue working from home, there is still an opportunity to show your appreciation by giving your tenants a summer-themed gift. A desk drop is an easy and safe way to distribute the chosen item, and your tenants will feel special when they arrive at the office and find something waiting for them. Gift ideas might include a pair of sunglasses, a water bottle or a drink koozie branded with your building’s logo, which helps to create strong brand recognition, and reminds your tenants that you’re invested in their Tenant Experience as they spend more and more time at work. It is an office building’s responsibility to play a role in helping make the return to work as enjoyable as it is important.
4. Farmer’s market
Fresh, seasonal produce is synonymous with summer months, and open air farmer’s markets are a fantastic way to support a local farm. Spare your tenants the evening trip to the grocery store and partner with a farmer’s market to set up their product in a parking lot or common area of your building. For an additional branding opportunity, print tote bags with your building’s logo on it for your tenants to pick up on their way to the market. This is another great way to remind tenants why they should return to the office.
5. Summer sweepstakes
For months at a time during the pandemic, many retail stores and small businesses have been tragically shuttered and need our support now more than ever. Recognize your retail tenants by purchasing a collection of their products, and then offer exclusive sweepstake prizes for your building community to win. Sell tickets to the summer sweepstakes and advertise each retailer’s contribution to the overall prize. For bonus points, try arranging a HILO Reward offer for all of your tenants, such as discounts on products or services.
