Show your tenants some love
Love is in the air! Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and it’s not too late to plan a celebration for your building community. Recognizing that tenants are at work, at home or anywhere in between, there are still a variety of tenant appreciation activities that can connect you with them wherever they are.
To make it super easy, our team at HILO has created a list of ideas that are sure to increase engagement and foster community. They are all simple to execute and can be implemented with a flexible budget. Read below for inspiration!
Gift Card Contest
Give tenants a chance to win a gift card (or a few) from a building retailer. Consider purchasing gift cards from retailers that sell products or offer experiences that connect to the Valentine’s Day theme, such as a restaurant, chocolate shop, florist, spa, etc. Keep the contest open for a few days or a week and be sure to announce the winners once they have been selected.
Lobby Giveaways
Greet your tenants on Valentine’s Day with a giveaway in the lobby as they enter the building to start their day. Giveaways might include a hot coffee or hot chocolate, baked treat, flower, box of chocolates or even a delicious breakfast box. Be sure to promote this activity ahead of time as it might give those who have yet to return to the workplace an extra reason to spend the day at the office. This is a great way for your building operation’s team to interact with tenants that you likely haven’t seen in a while.
Desk Drop
If a lobby giveaway isn’t in the cards for your building right now, what about trying a desk drop? Surprise and delight your tenants by leaving a box of chocolates or baked treats on their desk. This small gesture will be sure to make people smile and remind them that their building is thinking about them.
Virtual Experience
Consider hosting a virtual program for your tenants to celebrate Valentine’s Day, especially if occupancy is extremely low. A baking class or musical performance is sure to bring people together. Find a local chef or musician, promote the experience in advance and share a Zoom link that tenants can easily join. This type of event requires very few resources to organize, however it can have a great impact on your building community.
Wellness Class
A wellness program such as a meditation class, yoga session or an informative webinar is another great way to engage with your tenants this February. Connect with a local professional to lead the program and depending on restrictions in your city decide whether to host an in-person or virtual event. Again, this is another great way to bring the community together and offer them an experience that adds value to their day.
